Weighted 88 key digital piano / keyboard....Opinions please?

Hi,

I'm currently looking for a fully weighted, full sized keyboard (or digital piano), but I want one that has MIDI (preferably through USB), and ideally has onboard sounds (although this isn't a big deal necessarily). Obviously I want to spend as little as possible, but anything up to the low end of 4 digit prices would be okay.... Does anyone have any tips on this front? There's an almost endless pile of controllers out there, but I want something as realistic feeling to play as possible to a "real" piano (And yes, I HAVE considered one of those! I can't seem to find any output sockets on them though...?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

Ok, an old post, but...

You can't find anything? You're kidding...right? Check out Roland, Korg, Yamaha, even Casio--they all have units w/ the features you're looking for. "Cept MIDI via USB; never seen that, nor is it anything you'd want. Instead, look for a unit w/ MIDI and USB--you'll need both. If you're willing to spend 4 figures for a unit, you can spend a few bucks more for MIDI cables. You'll also want to consider the tech, like polyphony, touch sensitivity, layering, splits, etc.

At the price point you mention, you'll likely end up w/ a used unit, but there's nothing wrong w/ that--all my stuff is used. Check out CL and see what's there, then do a search on individ. units and check the features, reliability, reviews, etc. Here's a link that can get you started: https://consordini.com/best-weighted-keyboard/ and you can always check Amazon.

You do have internet access...right?

I have an M-AUDIO Oxygen88 - Has midi and usb but no onboard sounds. It is graded hammer action which is better than weighted keys. It was very inexpensive new. Suits my needs, It sits at home and never gigs. Even 88 controllers are heavy when fully weighted. But you could gig with it, it would work great. The sound depends on your choice of modules or computer.

It's an old post but in case someone's interested for a good portable 88 keys, you should totally look into the Casio S1000/S3000. My main board is Kronos but I also got the Casio S3000. It has an amazing keybed and piano sound for the price. The keybed is FAR beyond crappy M-Audio keystation controller. No comparison! Highly recommended.
