I have tried many keyboards and modules and even software trying to get the hammond sound. The fact is that unless you set up your sound engine to play 8 notes at a time from one key or trigger 4 octaves apart with 4 harmonics (never mind the percussion) you can't. I have checked all the hammond sounds and settings of my modules and expansion cards and I don't like any of them.. When I don't bring my tone wheel organ modulle with me (like to practice or a jam) I don't even try to sound like the hammond. I have started using settings that mimic old 60s farfiza and crummy organ sounds. I use rotary effects on them. They sound pretty good in their own right and work well as a substitute. Maybe a VK8M would plug in through midi?
