I have been wondering for some time...

What is the main reason behind the extinction of proper keyboard players?

Thanks.

no recognition + complicated musical tastes = forlorn attitudes..

Add in NEEDS CASH and that exquisite analog keyboard filled with spacey goodness is on sale via Craigslist/eBay.

I guess the computer took over that role as well and guitar music boomed in the last few years.

If there is a piano involved, the singer/songwriter generally plays it as well.

I need one though!!

No offense intended but I think keys players maybe the flakiest members of the music community.
Right after guitar players anyways.

So do you think they play the hard to get? I might be wrong but I think there is prejudice against the keys... Guitars are more linked to attitude in the media maybe.

I was just joking.

Some people are musicians, just as some are chefs, or soldiers.

Most people who "think" to pick up an instrument have an ulterior motive I believe.

And guitar players are COOL.

Love to have a compatible keys man with us.

That would be awesome.
