As stated above what drum sticks do you all prefer to use when playing?

I usually play with the Pro-Mark TX747N (nylon tip) or the Vic Firth 7A's (nylon tip)

i prefer Vater:
1A - wood tip
"Alien FreaK" (Morgan Rose/Sevendust signature model. basically they're like playing with two large dowels..heh. perfect for beating the crap out of your kit. same weight as the 1A without the pesky tip)
5A Nude and their Acousticks for lighter playing.
i used to swear by Vic Firth and Pro-Mark but have found Vater to be able to put up with me.

I use the Pro-Mark Millenium series. Right now it's the Mike Portnoy signature sticks (nylon tip). 747's(?)

I recently switched to AHEAD LT series sticks they are quite frankly amazing, I break quite a few sticks per hard session and these things are sick, they don't bend on me, they do not chip out, tips interchangeable, so many benefits. I used Pro-Mark 747's for ever. I have almost totally switched to the AHEAD's.

I use DW's drumsticks "3's a pair." I break too many sticks per week to be investing in a 15$ pair of nice sticks. I'd rather buy 4-5 pair for 7.50$, which translates to 15 sticks. Remember, you get 3 sticks for 7.50... so I find that a better deal for me. I really don't hit the drums that hard, atleast not with a lot of arm or body movement. Most of it comes from a hard slap down and a loose grip allowing the stick and drum to take all the energy rather than my fingers and hand absorb it.

I prefer the one's that narrowly miss my head when Steve throws em at me.
Breaks my concentration on the Paul bringing me back in focus without getting blood on my shirt.
Seriously though what would us guitar players do without ya.ll on the skins.

Ahead sticks are great money savers, but wood sticks have a different sound. Practice with ahead sticks and use them for hard hitting tunes but use wood for that primal/jazzy other sound.

I USED TO USE REGAL 3S NYLONS(YOUNG BUCK) SWITCHED TO LUDWIG 3S NYLONS (OLDER BUCK-LIGHTER WOOD)THEN WENT TO V.F. 5B NYLONS (QUIT THE BAND+REALLY OLD F$%#K)FOUND PART OF ONE IN AN OLD MUSTY TRAP CASE AND WAS AMAZED I ACTUALLY USED TO BEAT THE S^&#T OUT OF MY KIT WITH THOSE THINGS AND BREAK EM!! I RECENTLY CAME ACROSS A SET OF WHAT ARE 5B IN SIZE WITH REALLY BIG NYLON TIPS LIKE FROM OL SCHOOL 3S'S BUT NO NAME OR ANYTHING. EVEN THE DRUMMER WORKIN THE STORE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THEY CAME FROM.VIC FIRTH IS CLOSE WITH THEIR RED LABEL 5B NYLON WITH THE LARGERER TIP AND THE BACK OF STICK IS FLAT OFF BUT NOT THE SAME.
