I have been using Zildjian AntiVibe 5B's for about 8 years now. They seem to help limit any fatigue I get in my forearms.

I currently use, Vic Firth Dave Weckl's. In the past I've used Pro-Mark, Regal Tip, Zildjian & a synthetic. I dont remember the brand. I've been using the "Vic's" the longest, tho.

I'm using Zildjian 5A wood tips lately. Also have some with the black stick grip but the first time I used them, I got blisters because they don't slide in your hand - you have to adjust and not grip too tightly.

I use Pro Mark, Japanese Oak, 5B with wood tips. It's my go-to for the rock music I play.

I'm thinking of switching to a slightly thinner stick for the same hard hit, but to do a lot of stick tricks as well. Gotta entertain the crowd! 8)

Shodai wrote:Back in the day I used Pro Mark Golden Oak 5A. Those were a great stick. Like everything else good in life, it was discontinued years and years ago. I prefer a heavier stick, but a 5A diamater. The Golden Oak fit that perfectly.

I also like a round tip. I have been using the Vic Firth AS5A, which is a hickory stick with a small round tip, a little heavier and better balanced than most of the other hickory sticks out there. If it were made of oak, and about a half inch longer it would be perfect.

I know Pro Mark still makes oak sticks, but I really, really like the small round tip.

Of course, ask a thousand drummers about the perfect stick, you get a thousand different answers.
pro mark 707 has a round tip, but it's too light for me. you might like it though.

I prefer silverfox 7a wood tip, very durable compared to vic firth and very comfortable. They almost double the life of vic's. for me at least. If I play metal or hard rock I would use 5a instead.
