Pro mark 747 for hard rock/metal, and pro mark 727 for faster thrash.

Danny Carey Signature sticks. Literally the best sticks I've ever used.

Wanted to mentions some changes since the last post. I have try now a few other sticks which I now prefer and list here: Vic Firth - Steve Gadd signature, Vic Firth - Dave Weckl signature, Silver Fox 5A nylon tip.
That's it for now. Peace!

It seems D'Addario bought out ProMark some 2 years ago and finally got around to replacing all the "lathes" that ProMark had been using - with state of the art "grinding" machines and seems as if ProMark was cutting their sticks a bit "smaller" than what the stated diameter was supposed to be. I played the 727s for years - my last 6 pair were "larger in diameter" - a bit heavier and had less "flex" than the pair I had bought 8 months ago. Now I play the Oak Jazz wood tip PWJZW - Im supposing the nylon tip would be PWJZN.

about any 7a will do, I like the zildjian round bead. don't use 5's anymore, too heavy. I prefer hickory, maple is OK, won't use oak. too stiff.

I use 5A or 7A depending on sound and venue. Each stick produces a different sound on cymbals and drums. I'll mix and match too-which drives this one friend of mine crazy because he always wants a perfectly balanced stick and pair=he is real anal about it being just so so. He will look over every pair with such scrutiny. If its wood and it whacks I'm fine. Playing jazz I'll use a 7A and a brush.

do these count?

sorry, non drummer.....mallet percussionist (vibes, marimba, malletKAT) here.

i've got about a half dozen 'sets' (set=4) of different mallets in varying hardness, head shape, and shaft material.

these seem to be getting the most use lately... Victor Mendoza M23 made by Vic Firth
