THANKS for sharing that with us. Van Morrison is my wife's all-time favorite musician. I didn't really know much about him until I read this article. I have huge respect for somebody who puts music first and all the other B.S. last. You got to respect somebody who's in this business for the redeeming quality of the music first and foremost.

I've always appreciated Van and have avoided the industry's frivolity too... completely... and any benefit's of it as well!
But I do it for me mostly so it isn't like I feel like a failure; the song's I wrote I wrote for myself and they have served me well in my healing and growth from the seemingly bottomless pit that I dug myself into. If your doing it only for others and not for your own enrichment... well I just don't see how you can possibly honestly feel successful or fulfilled!

Being voted into a hall of fame is merely a subjective consensus vote. It doesn't really mean anything. I believe Bill Russell didn't attend his hall of fame induction He was much prouder being voted captain by his teammates. Why hasn't Pete Rose been inducted into the Hall of Fame? Didn't his play on the field earn him that induction? It's only a dumbass subjective opinion about his gamblng addiction that keeps him out. Yeah, Van not going to the induction ceremony speaks volumes about what's really important to him as a musician.

I like Van Morrison...I have had the opportunity to play Moondance several times. As a matter of fact, I am ready to play it again.
