Coldplay stole Joe Satriani's song "If I could fly" for their song "Viva la Vida."

It's all over the place just google it. Huge lawsuit. If you saw the youtube videos before Capitol records *Coldplay's company* removed it to cover their butts, you would have heard someone lay Satch's song over Coldplays and heard the same melody. discuss...

We talked bout that in another thread. It probably died by now.

Umm well, Oldplay sucks, imo. However, I doubt they/or their producers had ever heard anything by Satch. Plus, the progressions aren't unique and are found in various pieces of music.
The thing that is really stupid though, is how Oldplay ignored Satch for a coupla weeks when he contacted them bout it. That wasn't wise.

Some of these musical lawsuits are simply frivolous. Think of the poor guy who invented the first blues progression or country progression. Those guys could be worth billions of dollars by now. Shame on everyone for stealing their songs. Later...
