One of the biggest names in contemporary country music is to kick probably the most expected tour in 2010.

George Strait who won the Artist of the Decade award at the ACM Artist of the Decade All Star Concert in April this year and was among the nominees on the 43rd CMA show is coming to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and he’s bringing Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack with him.

The George Strait tickets for the Las Vegas show that will be held February 6 have already sold out. Saturday, November 21, was the day all fans expected eagerly. The big fight for tickets was over until noon. But as Womack’s album states: "There’s More Where That Came From." The George Strait tour kicks off in early 2010 and continues through late spring.

Baltimore, Greensboro, Knoxville, Charlottesville, Phoenix, Las Vegas, St Louis, Wichita, Tulsa, Atlanta, Orlando, Memphis, New Orleans, Portland, Tacoma, Omaha, Kansas City, Des Moines, are some of the places where the trio Strait-McEntire-Womack will perform for their fans.

George "King of Country" Strait will share one stage with his friend Reba McEntire. The latest news is that the opening act for their shows will be the up-and-coming singer Lee Ann Womack. Womack is one of the hottest country artists with more than 6 million albums sold, two Grammys and critical acclaim for her last album, "There’s More Where That Came From."

George Strait said that he and Oklahoma superstar Reba McEntire will make the show a really spectacular night and they surely will!

Strait has a career that spans over 25 years and has produced 57 No. 1 singles which is more than any other artist in history, including Elvis Presley. He has sold more than 67 million records half of which have been certified as platinum or multi-platinum by the RIAA.

He has won so many awards that it’s hard to mention all of them. But among the most prominent ones are a few Grammy Awards, the Academy of Country Music’s Artist of the Decade honor, and 19 Academy of Country Music Awards, including the top title, Entertainer of the Year.

Fans will be able to hear the greatest hits from Strait’s recent release, “Twang.”

He's very good at what he does, that's a given. I just wish these country artists were a little more versatile & could surprize me occasionally.

Reba's voice puts me into conniptions, though.

I always have liked Strait. He's smooth as silk. Not sure if I agree that he or anybody else for that matter can be considered artist of the decade. There's so many country music award shows on all the time. Maybe they should have a weekly annual award show, or better yet have an award show for the best award show...
