I was never a big sitar fan, I always preferred records with a Dano/Coral electric sitar, but the one instrument I love the sound of is the tambura. I guess the best examples of it's razzy drone would be "On The Road Again" by Canned Heat, and "Getting Better" by The Beatles. That is an interesting instrument. The sound is exotic. Puts me in mind of Apocalypse Now .
Not all that into exotic instruments myself, other than finding them mildly interesting. I guess that is why I consider myself a guitar player and not truly a "musician". _________________ http://www.noisykungfu.com/ |
